The Official Video Clip of "The search of meaning" is out!
To accompany the release of The Search of Meaning, VMV Trio presents the official music video, a visual interpretation of the album’s central theme: the search for meaning through emotion. Built around a continuously evolving typographic language, the video explores how feelings shape perception, memory and personal experience. Rather than illustrating the music, the visuals engage in a dialogue with it, inviting viewers to reflect on their own emotional journey. The official music video extends the album beyond listening, offering an immersive experience where sound, image and emotion become inseparable.

“Blending contemporary jazz with film, rock, and experimental influences, the trio shows original maturity and innovation. VMV Trio’s research-driven creativity and communicative intensity mark them as a promising new voice in modern jazz.”
Jazz Journal UK – 18 march 2026 ➺ FULL REVIEW
“And in a jazz landscape often divided between revivalism and sterile experimentation, their voice sounds authentic. It is a debut that asks for no indulgence. I ask for a listening. And it deserves it.”
Musica Jazz, Nicola Gaeta – FEBRUARY 2026
“The sound of the VMV Trio balances between modern jazz and rock, ranging from delicate melodies to vigorous virtuosity. A track like ‘Missing Pieces’ clearly demonstrates how deeply in tune these three musicians are with one another, and that a trio composed only of guitar, saxophone, and drums works perfectly, thanks precisely to the versatility of Cutillo’s guitar.”

ABOUT
VMV Trio is a jazz ensemble from Puglia, Southern Italy, formed by three emerging musicians: Vincenzo Di Gioia (alto saxophone), Marco Cutillo (guitar), and Vito Tenzone (drums).
Founded in 2023, the trio has developed a distinctive artistic identity centered on original compositions and an open approach to improvisation.
Drawing inspiration from contemporary jazz, film music, rock, and experimental soundscapes, their music transcends stylistic boundaries while maintaining a strong narrative and emotional character.
At the core of the trio’s work is the exploration of music as a language capable of generating dialogue, evoking emotions, and creating connections with other artistic forms. This multidisciplinary vision has naturally led to projects where sound and visual communication interact, expanding the listening experience beyond music itself.
In 2024, VMV Trio released its debut EP, From Now On, on FDS Records and quickly gained recognition on the Italian jazz scene, winning First Prize at the Teano Jazz Contest, Second Prize at the Onyx Jazz Contest, and reaching the finals of both the Conad Jazz Contest and the Abbazie Jazz Contest.
In 2026, the trio released its debut full-length album, The Search of Meaning, on Inner Urge Records. The album has been warmly received by the specialist music press for its artistic vision, exploring the relationship between music, emotion, and visual language.
The three musicians have also received significant individual recognition. Marco Cutillo won the Grand Prize at the 2013 Igor Stravinsky National Competition and was a finalist at the Massimo Urbani Prize.
Vito Tenzone received the Best Soloist Award at the 2024 Abbazie Jazz Contest.
Vincenzo Di Gioia was a finalist at the International Massimo Urbani Prize, where he was awarded a scholarship to Nuoro Jazz, and is the recipient of the Santa Cecilia Award (2019) and the Pierluigi Galluzzi Award (2023).
Although still at the beginning of their artistic journey, VMV Trio has established itself as a cohesive and distinctive project in which three individual musical voices converge into a shared space for research, improvisation, and collective growth. Today, the trio continues to develop a personal artistic language that combines compositional research, expressive freedom, and a multidisciplinary vision exploring the relationship between sound, emotion, and visual language.
